HOMEWORK FOR TUESDAY THE 14TH

NOTE TO PARENTS: We reviewed Lesson 2 and covered Lesson 3 in class. We color coded protons red and neutrons blue in the nucleus of the atom with black electrons orbiting around them. I hope this helps them remember which part is which. I gave copies of Lesson 3 and 4 for students who haven't gotten their books yet. Please make sure they read through the information completely to do Homework due Tuesday.
Due Tuesday:
1 typed page (double spaced) summary on Madame Curie p 16-17. Read Lesson 4, write vocab + definitions in your notebooks. Memorize 3 elements for quiz Tuesday: Am-Americium, Ar-Argon, As-Arsenic. Review 1st 3 elements.
Because we only have one day before school (not counting the weekend), I am changing the worksheets assignments. Complete the "What Am I" worksheet. It's on a 2 sided page with the puzzle pieces on the other. For Fun, you can make your own copy of the puzzles pieces, cut them out and see how elements can fit together to make molecules. Complete 1/2 of the Understanding Atoms chart from Hydrogen to Silver and bring to class. We will finish the bottom 1/2 in class Tuesday. The top 1/2 still counts as homework and I will check for completion. Don't worry about "Learning About Atoms" chart unless filling it out helps you gain understanding.
Friday Sept 17th we will have a quiz on Lessons 1-4. Call if you have questions!
