Please read Lesson 2 completely and do the 2 handouts. The color page is optional extra credit, but I encourage you to collect additional points any time I make them available. Go over the What Did We Learn section with a parent. Don't forget to memorize the 1st 3 elements: Actinium-Ac, Silver-Ag, and Aluminium-Al. Write the vocabulary words from Lesson 2 in your notebooks along with definitions. We will have a 5 point quiz on Friday on the elements + 2 vocabulary words. Finish your index cards and put them in alphabetical order of abbreviations by Friday.
NOTE TO PARENTS: After introducing ourselves in class today, we read Lesson 1, then went outside for our soda fountain experiment. Thank you for supplying the extra fun. We had minty Mentos and fruity ones, and both worked well. We had some help from our computer teacher Mr. Prezalor. We also learned that chemistry is yummy because it's the reason cocoa and sugar make chocolate. We also added vinegar to baking soda to see another chemical reaction. Call me if you have questions about the assignments.
