On Friday we went over many things which will be on the test. I told the boys to be able to explain the chemistry involved in Farming, Medicine, and the Nitrogen Cycle, as well as choosing one of the experiments we did in class or at home, and explain its chemistry. Describing the materials is not sufficient.
We went over aspects of the periodic table and how to figure out the # of neutrons, protons, and electrons. Practice on your own by choosing several elements. Study polymers, reaction rates, acids & bases. I will try to come up with EC.
I also told the boys to prepare for their oral report. If the rough draft was not the required 3 pages, work on that first, then practice out loud with a parent. You should be able to speak for a minimum of 1-2 min. Practice with notecards and without 5-6 times to get comfortable with what you have to say. Make it fun; maybe you can pretend to be on the phone with a friend, sharing some fun information you just found.
